Rebirth

I woke up cold and early (6am) 2 hours before Jabu would visit to take me to Saint Benedictine Hospital. I still fretted about my living situation, hoping that some kind doctor would help me find a better living arrangement. I had already paid for two nights at the Nongoma Lodge, but I was more than ready to leave after one night.

We entered the compound otherwise known as a hospital with several uniformed individuals guarding the entrance. Moments later I was in the office with Dr. Makhanya the Medical Manager of the hospital. Realizing that this trip was coming out of my pocket, he assured me that he could arrange free housing on hospital grounds and free meals. He also advised me that a car rental was an unnecessary cost for my work at the hospital. This brought considerable relief. A wave of joy returned.

Glad to see you're on-line! I think I nearly cried at your previous post - the lonely and misinformed travellor. But I guess Angela was right - in Nongoma, everything works itself Africa-style. Hope things are going well at the hospital! Say hello to Mr. Makhanya and Jabu for me!
