Nongoma Main Strip

The main strip of Nongoma stretches for about 1-2 miles with a variety of stores – butcheries, all purpose grocery stores, petrol (gas) stations, furniture store, post office, electronic stores, cell phones stores and more. This strip made Nongoma feel less rural. Nongoma truly has nearly everything, but less of it. The sidewalks are festive with street vendors. Traffic on the main road move to a crawl to avoid the bombardment of pedestrians. To my surprise, there are occasional whites and Asians, but they are likely the owners of particular stores. The grocery store is like any other Sam’s Club/Costco warehouse. Hair salons scatter the area, but none of them know how to cut Asian hair. I need my mom to cut it
